Hello there! You may have noticed there hasn't been an update from us this year. Due to some personal work earlier in the year, I had to put Resonate on hold for a bit. Fortunately, things are much calmer now, and I'm looking at future projects and scheming on some ideas. The Resonate project will be formatted a bit differently, but rest assured, it will be back before you know it. In the meantime, I'll be doing some freelance work, so feel free to contact me if you need anything or would like to be involved with Resonate soon.

For Pride Month, we've teamed up with Chicago's Center on Halsted for another artist showcase as a part of their continuing Limelight Series! The line-up includes local Chicago faves Nire Nah, Night & Gale, and Jade Carter, who was featured on the first episode of our Speaking Of... podcast series.
Join us on Monday, June 27th @ 7PM, $10 suggested donation. See Facebook event here.
For the last few months, I've collaborated with some of Chicago's finest spoken word and storytelling artists for this first episode of what I hope will become many. Speaking Of... is a podcast for queer and allied artists.
Curated for Homoground.com, Dylan recently wrote up a mixtape perfectly suited for an afternoon of shell-throwing and hitting the gas too early.
On his list, Dylan says:
"For this ‘mix tape’ I decided to select some of my favorite songs to race to at the moment (its forever changing/I’m very single lololol) and compile them in a playlist for anyone else who might share my love for this divine combination."
Thanks to our videographer Cassie (special shoutout to our friend Andrew for the animated logo), we were able to capture a few performances from our first artist showcase at Young Camelot in December for your viewing pleasure.

Thanks to the Windy City Times and Vern Hester for this write-up on Dylan Wright's Hate Me EP! Click through the images to read the full article.
Later this month, I'm teaching our first DIY Recording workshop (!!!) with my faves at Girls Rock! Chicago. Girls rock camps across the country are SUPER cool and important; if you haven't heard of them, check them out.
For this all-ages workshop, I'll be going over basic audio techniques and cost-effective tips and tricks to get your songs and ideas captured. We'll even get into some song creation of our own! Find out more:
I'm very excited to announce more collaboration with JRV Majesty Productions into 2016! Joe and I co-hosted and curated the first Resonate Unplugged Session at the end of 2015, and I can't wait for more. Keep checking back to see what other magic we conjure! Below is an excerpt from his 2015 Letter from the Editor ; click the image for the full piece.
We are extremely proud and excited to announce our first full release with artist Dylan Wright. It was great to work with Dylan and hear his stories. He's an amazingly talented performer and songwriter, and we couldn't have picked a more perfect artist for our premiere release.
We look forward to more future releases and a relaxing holiday. Enjoy!
It's almost time, friends! On December 15th, Dylan Wright's EP "Hate Me", Resonate's first EP project, will be released for your ears!
In the meantime, enjoy this preview track:
THE TIME HAS COME!
We're hosting our first artist showcase this Saturday, Dec. 5th at Young Camelot in Chicago. (Click the image for event page!)
The line-up is stellar, and we'll have stickers and ZINES (courtesy of Homoground) to give out! They're featuring Resonate artists in CONFESSIONS, their quarterly interview zine. Here's a little preview:
Our friends at Homoground also covered our showcase in their most recent podcast episode, featuring all artists on the line-up and discussing how Resonate works. How cool is that? Listen here!
I am very pleased to announce that earlier this month, we've embarked on a wonderful art-filled journey in collaboration with JRV Majesty Productions! The first Resonate Unplugged Session featured performances from Dylan Wright, ALEXA GRAE, and spoken word artist Mar Curran, in an intimate living-room setting. Cute snacks and all!
If you weren't able to see it in person, I recorded the entire evening; click the image above to listen.
Hey all! I recently wrote up an intro blog for what will turn into the Resonate Artist series with our friends at PunkOut.org. Each Resonate artist will write a piece on identity, music, and anything in between. You can read the first blog in that series here.
Keep an eye out for plenty of updates (AND MUSIC) coming your way before the end of the year!
